Facebook’s New Prompt Feature — UGM Just Got Easier

If you haven’t seen it already, Facebook recently released a new feature that helps brands get user generated content much easier than before. It’s called Prompt. Similar to Instagram’s question feature in stories, where a user can post a story leaving question and a box open for responses. Then the story poster can share those responses and even respond to the responses. It is pretty crazy.

I’ve seen prompts used really well in small scale groups. CRTV Church, a group I’ve written about several times now uses this feature often and it always gets high engagement. Here are some examples from CRTV Church.

These seem to work well for the group, some posts getting more comments than others. The way these work are you comment photos or text below, and anyone can swipe through the responses. It feels almost like stories but within the feed itself.

I think these could be super useful for any group. My church group that I host could utilize these by asking for Sunday views, just like CRTV did. Since the majority of my group members are from churches, it would be easy to ask for Sunday views sunday morning at 9AM. I could also ask for desk setups and premier pro setups. I think those options would prove useful for engagement.

Although this does not require a lot of work to search what will boost engagement, but seeing what's trending on Instagram or Twitter could prove useful to give a relevant prompt and get answers to roll in.
